By joshua Ohimegye Praises Ododo, First Lady As ‘Birds Of Same Feather’ After Empowerment Of 200 Women
The Ohimegye Igu Koton Karfe, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, has described Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his wife Hajia Sefinat Ododo as “birds of the same feather” after the First Lady flagged off empowerment for 200 women in Kogi and Lokoja LGAs with, foodstuffs, wrappers and ₦50,000 cash each.
The Traditional ruler made the remark when he received Hajia Sefinat Ododo in his palace during the empowerment programme. He said the governor and his wife share the same spirit of compassion and commitment to lifting the vulnerable. “They are birds of the same feather, flocking together with kind heartedness,” he stated.
Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu also expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for facilitating a befitting palace for the Igu Kingdom, describing the present administration as one that is not resting on its oars in bringing relief to the people. He noted that in a time when the world faces precarious challenges, the First Lady’s gesture of supporting 200 women with direct cash and materials will go a long way in easing hardship at the grassroots.
The Ohimegye pledged the continued support of the people of Igu Kingdom to the Ododo administration and wished the governor well as he continues to drive development across the state.
The empowerment programme forms part of Hajia Sefinat Ododo’s ongoing outreach to women and vulnerable groups in Kogi State, aimed at reducing poverty and strengthening household livelihoods.
