Oghareki: How Oborevwori Is Giving Hope To The Common Man Through Technical Education — Edewor

*Describes Governor As Visionary Leader With Giant Strides in Education

The Director-General of Sheriff Oborevwori: The Hope Of The Common Man, Mr. Edewor Okiemute Godspower, has described the commissioning of the state-of-the-art Model Technical College, Oghareki, by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Friday as a clear proof that the administration is not just building infrastructure, but building the future of Delta youths.

At the inauguration, the governor had said that the Model Technical College, Oghareki, demonstrated his administration’s commitment to equipping young people in Ethiope West and neighbouring communities with practical skills that would make them employable and economically independent.

He had also said that the institution has state-of-the-art workshops, staff and student accommodation, and sports facilities and urged the management, staff and students to maintain the facilities for future generations.

The Director-General of Sheriff Oborevwori: The Hope Of The Common man, speaking in Warri on Saturday shortly after the historic inauguration in Ethiope West Local Government Area, said the governor has once again demonstrated uncommon vision and commitment to quality education through practical skills acquisition.

According to him, the new Model Technical College, Oghareki, equipped with state-of-the-art workshops, modern staff and students accommodation and standard sports facilities, is a masterpiece that will equip young Deltans with employable skills and make them economically independent and self-reliant.

“What Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is the hope of the Common man, commissioned on Friday in Oghareki is not just a school, it is a factory for producing wealth creators, employers of labour and skilled manpower for Delta State and Nigeria. This is what we call education with purpose,”
the Director-General of Sheriff Oborevwori: The Hope Of The Common Man, said.

Describing the Governor “As The Hope Of The Common Man, he lauded him for ordering the immediate assessment and total overhaul of all dilapidated public primary and secondary schools across the state, noting that with over 1,400 primary schools and 480 secondary schools in Delta, only a compassionate and focused leader could take such a bold decision.

The Director-General of Sheriff Oborevwori: The Hope Of The Common Man, Edewor noted that the governor’s directive to the Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education to begin scoping and rehabilitation without delay shows a leader who is deeply concerned about the learning environment of the common man’s child, saying that; “We are so proud to have the Governor As The Hope Of The Common Man. He is a promise keeper and has never disappointed the Common man”

He also commended Governor Oborevwori for announcing that three additional Model Technical Colleges at Irri in Isoko South, Kiagbodo in Burutu and Akugbene in Bomadi LGAs would be completed and inaugurated before December 2026, describing it as equity and inclusiveness in action, bringing technical education to every senatorial district.

He praised the governor’s humane gesture of announcing a N50 million education support fund for Miss Ogheneovo Davina, a Junior Technical II student of the college who delivered an impromptu address on behalf of her colleagues, saying it shows the governor’s love for excellence and encouragement of the girl-child.

“This is the M.O.R.E Agenda in action. From roads to schools, from health to youth empowerment, Governor Oborevwori is touching every sector. His giant strides in the education sector — from the upgrade of institutions to this world-class technical college — have positioned Delta as a model for practical education in Nigeria,” he added.

Edewor said former Governor Chief James Ibori who commissioned the project alongside the Orodje of Okpe and Chairman Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Major-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), and other dignitaries, was right when he commended Oborevwori’s development strides and assured him of massive support.

He called on Deltans, especially parents, youths and stakeholders in Ethiope West and beyond, to protect and maintain the facility for future generations as appealed by the governor.

“With this school, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has given hope to the common man that his child can become an engineer, a fabricator, a technician and a global competitor without necessarily waiting for white-collar jobs. That is the true hope of the common man,” Edewor said.

The Director-General of Sheriff Oborevwori: The Hope Of The Common Man assured that his group will continue to mobilise grassroots support for the administration as the governor continues to deliver on his promises to all Deltans, adding that; “Indeed, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is the hope of the Common man”.
