Ododo’s good efforts in crushing insurgency
A good leader deeply understands the strategic position of security in administration and its role in navigating the institutions of good governance. The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo understands the core value of security in his administration and has continued to play a crucial role in strengthening the state security architecture for a better Kogi State.
For over a decade there has been an onslaught of insurgency across the country. Kogi State being the gateway to the federal capital territory Abuja with over ten states passing the state on a daily basis to Abuja had been facing some incursions by criminal elements but with dare resistance by the good administration of the governor.
As soon as the governor took the mantle of leadership in Kogi State on January 27, 2024, he gave priority attention to security in his administration. Apart from providing security logistics to all the security formations in the state, he also bought large number of vehicles and distributed to all the security formations in the state. The governor’s action was borne out of his vision to make the state a safe place for both government and private businesses to thrive in the state.
It is on record that since the governor came on board Kogi State has been witnessing relative peace and the people of the state had continued to go about their normal business.
The recent threat by President Donald Trump of America to invade Nigeria on security concern appeared to have heightened the immoral activities of insurgency across the country. Insurgent leaders hiding in caves became livid and also threatened to increase their activities across the States of the federation. The development caused serious concerns across the thirty six States of the federation.
In Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo rose up to the occasion and strengthened the security architecture in the state. Without fear to his personal life, the governor has always visited any community the insurgents makes an attempt to invade. This indeed is a mark of statesmanship on the part of the Chief Servant of the State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Evidences of the governor’s efforts in making Kogi State a no go area for insurgents abound. A good number of criminals across the state have been arrested and made to face the laws of the land. This decisive action has made the men of the underworld to keep a distance on all the lands of Kogi State
What’s more, the governor’s huge motivation on all the security formations in the state recently yielded positive results through the interception of a large cache of arms by security agents in the state. The seizure of the arms which included large number of AK-47, Pump Action guns, grenades, pistols, cartridges and other dangerous weapons have not only saved Kogi State from security breach and catastrophy but the nation at large.
When His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Rock to report the seizure of the large arms in Kogi State, the President was so much pleased and asked the governor to do more on security in the state and by extension the country at large.
His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has continued to make significant progress in tackling the menace of criminal activities in the state. He has never rested on his oars as he has always kept the security agencies in the state on their tow to prevent the activities of the men of the underworld in the state on continued check.
Tackling the security concerns holistically in the state by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is part of his vision for good governance across the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state. The governor is doing well in matching the security concerns with action on a daily basis.
His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is a leader of peace and would continue to pursue peace for the good people of Kogi State.
