Obaseki Increases New Minimum Wage Of N70,000 To Workers

Edo State Government has increased the new minimum wage of N70,000 to the state workers commencing from May 1, 2024.

The State Governor, Godwin Obaseki disclosed this on Monday at the commissioning of Labour House, built for the organized labour in the state.

The house for organized labour which are Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress was named after the former governor of the State Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki, said that his administration would increase the new minimum wage for the state workers from N40,000 to N70,000.

He also promised to increase the monthly salary of workers to over N70,000 if the Federal Government approved the new minimum wage for its workers.

He said the details of the new minimum wage would be made known to the public on this year, workers day coming up on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in the country.
