OBAJANA CEMENT FACTORY: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT MAY OWN THE MINERAL RESOURCES BUT KOGI STATE OWN THE LAND

~Engr. Ondeku

If not for anything, at least, for posterity sake, I am, standing solidly behind the State Government on this particular issue for this is a collective insult, no twist!

Dangote had come to rip off Kogi State Cement Factory perpetually-his intention.
He was supposed to hold the factory in trust but turned it around, may be, because Kogites are not fortunate enough to have had a concerned Government or Individuals to challenge Dangote and his group to since, rights the wrongs on the Dangote self-aclaimed ownership backup displayed; ‘blind transaction indeed’.

Dangote lieud Kogi State Government, used her license and certificate of occupancy to obtained a loan of 63b naira, he invested the money in trust but he has been paying the royalty to the Federal Government instead of Kogi State. If this is not a northern agenda to further subjugate the good people of Kogi State then it’s an aberration to our constitutional rights as the host State.

I can’t overcome my displeasure and disappointment over the chicanery interventional advice of the Federal Government in the ongoings, an intervention that clearly typifyied the Nigeria frivolism and favourism retrogressive factor which has trapped the country down to her feets from birth todate. Nobody should challenge Dangote because he is the northern giant business mogul, nobody should challenge the richest man in Africa even if, his exploration activities in Kogi State is doing us more harm than good!

Even if his trucks’ drivers are killing Kogites on a daily basis-destroying our roads without commensurate commitment to the host community, Kogi as a State or it’s Government! They had wanted us to remain silent forever, but GYB said, NO! If the fight is not now, kogites when?

A place where the blind follows the blind, whoever dares open his eyes to see the right path and follows his path differently will naturally be criticized, but he will eventually becomes the leader of that place-this is typically, the definition of Yahaya Bello in the whole of this.

His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello is contending this battle to free the Obajana Cement Factory from the threat of neocolonialism by the same people, the hegemons who ripped off and left Ajaokuta Steel Company in it’s present state of moribund. Yes, they can’t invest in Ajaokuta but they invested in building new steel plants in their States even without suitable viability test-this was how they started and if we cross our fingers, watch as they explorate our mineral resources, cart away our treasures and feel Yahaya Bello is fighting Dangote because of his pecuniary needs, then we should be ready to answer some posterity questions before our children, to me, this is delineation of our land and it’s resources in disguise!

The Federal Government stance in the ongoing Obajana saga is purely a display of tribal hegemony and we must condemned such malicious and outright demagogue by standing in solidarity with the State Government to reclaim our God’s given resources.

If not now! When?
