Nwifuru speaks on his Tribunal victory, Advises Odoh, Odii to shun further litigations

Ebonyi State Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has advised the challengers of his victory at the 2023 governorship election Professor Bernard Odoh of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to accept the petition tribunal verdict and join hands with him to develop the State.

Governor Nwifuru stated this in his office Ocho-udo Centenary city, Abakaliki while addressing newsmen on the outcome of the election petition tribunal seated in Abuja.

The Governor who was full of gratitude to God for the victory at the election petition tribunal which validated his victory, noted that he extend hands of fellowship to his challengers after he was declared winner of the election and pleaded with them not to go to court but work with him for the development of the State but his plea were turned down.

He said court quashed their petitions seeking to nullify his election that he was still member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when he contested election and did not sign his resignation letter for lack of merit in accordance with the electoral law.

Governor Nwifuru while commending all the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) involved in the election petition tribunal and Nigeria judiciary for good job, however called Professor Odoh, Odii and their supporters to accept the verdict in good faith, stop further litigations and join hands with him to develop the State to the aspirations of the founding fathers.

He commended the immediate past Governor of the State Engr. David Umahi for his resilience and Ebonyi people for given his their mandate and promised to do all within his reach towards taking the State to the greater height.

It would be recalled that Ebonyi State Governorship election petition tribunal seated in Abuja on Wednesday quashed petitions challenging the victory of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for lack of merit.
