The Rector, Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute, Mr. Oluwatoyin Williams in his opening remarks during a courtesy call on CUSTECH in Osara noted that on assumption of office he took it as a point of call to reach out to respective stakeholders in the education sector in a bid to galvanize support for his new task.

Mr. Williams acknowledged that owing to the Science and Technology orientation of CUSTECH, it became pertinent to visit the institution as they were partners in progress in fostering science and technological learning hence partnership in keen areas of interest was pertinent between both institutions.

He mentioned that NKFI boasts of equipment and facilities that could aid learning in areas of courses the institute was offering adding that while the focus of learning was 70% practical and 30% theoretical, facilities available could accommodate as many students for hands-on practical experience.

While promising that the institute was working on areas of accreditations, increasing the numbers of their courses and other necessary concerns currently faced with, he assured that with partners such as CUSTECH, NKFI was poised to raise the bar of Engineering, Technical and vocational learning in the nearest years to come.

The Vice Chancellor, Confluence University of Science and Technology, Prof. Salawu Sadiku thanked the visiting Rector and the management of NKFI stressing that both institutions play critical roles in producing man power in the area of technological education.

He mentioned that CUSTECH’s establishment by the state government was a response to the rising inability of secondary school graduates from the state to get admitted for professional courses in areas of sciences and technology majorly by neighboring Federal Institutions.

He added that both institutions share areas of mutual benefits hence CUSTECH was ever willing in fostering symbiotic relationship with the institute where areas of academic synergy, practical learning and others would be favorably and beneficially explored.

The Vice Chancellor who recalled the role played by NKFI during CUSTECH’S accreditation opined that he was not a stranger to the challenges on ground but admonished the Institute’s management to work hard in ensuring that NKFI becomes a point of reference in technical and vocational learning.
