Nike Art Gallery Begins Training of Kogi West Women on Adire, tie and die textiles.


 

All is now set for the training of fifty widows and young women from Kogi West Senatorial District by Chief Mrs. Nike Okundaye, of Nike Art Gallery on how to make Adire, tie and die textiles.

Chief Nike of Nike Art Gallery, is one of the worlds leading Cultural Icons, Painter, Sculptor, Supporter of women, and preserver of Nigerian traditional cultural practices, is the living embodiment of Art and Culture.

The National President of Kogi Youths Alliance, Comr. Olufemi Temitope, made the disclosure about the training to Newsmen in Lokoja today, said arrangements to begin the training program for women and some selected young persons has been concluded.

According to the National Coordinator, the Kogi Youths Alliance, nominated the selected trainees with support from Engr Edward Meseko, a businessman, politician cum philanthropists, said the training is a two weeks Program that would hold in Iyara Ijumu LGA of Kogi State.

The National Coordinator expressed appreciation to Nike Arts Gallery for accepting to impart skills on the women, said the trainees would as part of the training be accommodated by Nike Art Gallery during the period.

The training according to the National Coordinator is expected to begin on Monday, 2 August, would ensure that the women major in skills they will leverage upon to be self reliant and empowered.

According to the National Coordinator, certificates of participation would be presented to the graduands, said arrangements is on to provide starter packs to them to enable them operate on their own.
