Nigerias warned not to vote person’s who would short change the country for personal Gains, Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has warned Nigerians not to elect leader that would compromise the interest of the country for his personal gains.

 

The former President disclosed this shortly after a closed door meeting with former military Head of state Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar in Minna,Niger state.

Goodluck Jonathan told journalists that the country needs a leader who has the interest of the country at heart.

He argued that Nigerians also needs a leader who  would carry all Nigerians along and sees the country as his own  project by ensuring that it moves towards the path of growth and development.

He insisted,”  we all wish our country well especially for the young generation, elections are coming you have to elect the person you can trust,A leader that can serve us well”.

According to him the Country  need a leader who is a servant that will take the interest of the country and it citizens to a greater heights and a leader that would not compromise the interest of the country for his personal gains.

On the purpose of his visit, the former President said,” it’s been a year since, I came to Niger state. I am the most junior among the former Presidents and I do go round to visit them. I have not seen Abdulsalami for quite sometime, you know he just came back from abroad where he went for medical treatment”

“It’s  only proper to come with some of my friends to greet him and I went to also see Ibrahim Badamasi Babangi IBB. There is nothing special about the visit it’s a normal visit that I Usually do.

He explained that Nigeria needs Abdulsalami Abubakar, especially now that the 2023 elections are at hand,in order to contribute his quota in ensuring a peaceful, free and fair elections.

He further noted,” we need him especially as the former chairman of National Peace Committee.
He mid-wifed and ensured a peaceful election and as we approach elections again,  there is so much pressure on him to see how we can conduct our election freely, fairly in an environment that is peaceful and acceptable by all.

” A president is also a servant who will take the interest of all of us, a leader that would not compromise the interest of the country for his personal aggrandisement . A leader that would carry all of us along, especially someone that will take Nigeria as a project.
