A legal icon from Kogi State and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Barr. Bamidele Suru has advised Reno Omokri to go and study the nation’s constitution and electoral act very well, pointing out that no where did the constitution says you need an NYSC to qualify you for elective office.
The Senior lawyer and former Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development in the State asked Reno Omokri to go and find something else to do or read the electoral act and constitution carefully.
Barr. Suru was reacting to the argument by Reno Omokri that Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu didn’t serve NYSC, opined that you don’t need NYSC to qualify for elective Office.
Barr. Suru maintained that since Asiwaju Tinubu is not taking public office of Nigeria extraction, said of what use is NYSC.
He asked Reno to go and study Section 131 and 137 of the Nigeria Constitution very well, said NYSC is not a constitutional qualification to contest for presidency.
He concluded by asking him to read the electoral act very carefully, pointing out that it is not business as usual as contained in Section 84 (3) Election Act 2022.
