Nigerian-American Clergyman Urges President Tinubu, Political Leaders to Use Their God-Given Authority to Free Captives Across Nigeria

A Nigerian-American-based clergyman, Rev. Dr. Francis Kofoworola Iselowo, BCC, JP, of Faith Pavilion Inc., Arlington, Texas, USA, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other political leaders in Nigeria to utilize the authority entrusted to them by God to secure the release of captives and restore peace across the nation.

Speaking during a Facebook telecast, the Kogi-born cleric expressed deep concern and disappointment over the persistent cases of kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism in various parts of Nigeria. He particularly lamented the abduction of schoolchildren and their teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, stressing the urgent need for government at all levels to take decisive and coordinated action to secure their freedom.

Rev. Iselowo also highlighted the growing insecurity in several other states across the country where acts of terrorism and violent criminality continue to threaten the lives and livelihoods of citizens.

Drawing attention to leadership and governance, the cleric referenced the firm and decisive measures taken by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in addressing insurgency and security challenges during his administration, urging current leaders to demonstrate similar courage and commitment in tackling the nation’s security concerns.

He further called for greater synergy and collaboration between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in addressing the security situation, emphasizing that the welfare and safety of the people should remain the foremost priority of government.

Rev. Iselowo also urged President Tinubu not to hesitate in seeking international assistance where necessary, particularly from the administration of President Donald J. Trump and other global allies with the military capabilities and strategic resources that could complement the efforts of the hard-fighting Nigerian Armed Forces in combating terrorism, banditry, and other forms of insecurity.

According to him, national security should transcend politics, pride, and partisanship, noting that every available resource should be deployed to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.

“Nigeria must never be surrendered to the enemies of progress and development,” he declared. “All eyes are on Nigeria, and we must never allow our nation to become a laughing stock in the international community.”

Rev. Iselowo concluded his address with fervent prayers for Nigeria, declaring peace, stability, divine protection, and national restoration over the country.
