Minna High Court two,Presided over by Justice Abdullahi Mikhailu has granted an order, restraining Niger State Governor from acting on the resolution of the State House of Assembly to remove fifteen (15) local Government Chairmen from office.
The order followed a suit filed by the Chairman of Mokwa local government, Hon. Yahaya Abubakar, and fourteen others, seeking an interim injuction to restrain the Governor, the Attorney General of Niger state, House of Assembly, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Legislative Councils of the affected local Government Council’s from taking any further action against the plaintiffs in respect of the investigation into the contract Financing loans, pending the determination of the motion on notice.
The Court ordered the parties to maintain status quo pending the determination of the motion on notice.
Justice Abdullahi Mikhailu granted all the prayers and fixed 21st of September, 2022 for hearing of the case.
