NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT MOURNS GENERAL MUHAMMAD INUWA WUSHISHI.


 

 

The Niger State Government wishes to commiserate with all Nigerians over the death of one time dedicated Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, GENERAL MUHAMMAD INUWA WUSHISHI, who died at the ripe age of 81 years.

Family and official sources revealed that the onetime Chief of Army Staff lost the battle to a protracted illness at a London hospital yestaday, Saturday 4th December, 2021.

A statement issued on behalf of government and people of Niger state, the state Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon. Muhammad Sani Idris,stated that,”the state government profoundly regrets the death of this National Icon,this accomplished soldier who in spite of all odds, protected democracy and stood firmly in support of civilian administration in Nigeria.

The commissioner added that, “General Wushishi had devoted the greater part of his life in fighting for the survival of the nation as well as improved living conditions for the majority of the masses of this country”.

He said, the government and people of Niger state wish to express their most profound condolences to his wife and the family and indeed all Nigerians over the tragic loss and pray that the Almighty God in His infinite mercy will grant General Wushishi pardon and eternal rest.

The statement further stated that , it is not enough to name structures or streets after prominent personalities like General Wushishi in a bid to immortalize them rather all should come together to promote the ideals he lived for is, defending the unity and securing the country.
