Niger Justice Commissioner Pledges Synergy With Police.

The Niger state Commissioner of Police Mr. Monday Bala Kuryas has assured the  Ministry of Justice, the preparedness of the state Police command to work as a team to enhance dispensation of criminal Justice in the state.

Commissioner of Police Bala Kuryas made the statement when the Attorney general and commissioner of Justice Barr. Dan Mallam Nasara paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently.

He disclosed that the Command will continue to request the legal unit of the state command to always work with the Ministry of Justice towards making case files available to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)in the Ministry of Justice for speedy legal opinion for proper prosecution.

He then commended the Attorney general for the visit which he described it as timely adding that the Command under his watch has a responsibility to partner with his office to ensure quick despensation of Justice in the state.

Earlier in his speech the Niger state Attorney General and the Commissioner of Justice Barr Dan Mallam Nasara said that the reason of his visit is to bridge the gap that exist in the free flow of files and information hence the need to strategize with state police command.

The Attorney General mentioned that the police as a critical stakeholders in the administration of criminal Justice, there is need for the Judiciary to work with the police so as to make things easier for the both of the organization.

He noted that past Commissioner of Police in the State have been working in partnership with the Ministry of Justice which has yields the needed result in the prosecution of capital offences and securing overwhelming conviction in the state.

 

He called on the Commissioner of police to prevail on his investigating teams to always work as a team so that they can secure substantial conviction of capital offences.

Barr Dan Mallam hinted that the Ministry of Justice under his leadership has so far secured substantial numbers of conviction of capital offences of rapes, culpable homicide, kidnapping,armed robbery within the last four months,adding that this was made possible because of the synergy that exist between the ministry of Justice and the state Police command.

He however appealed to the Commissioner of police to continue to build on the already established working relationship with the state Ministry of Justice inorder to ensure perfect working relationship and quick administration of criminal Justice in the state.
