
NEW YEAR MESSAGE: KOGI WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER, ENGR. YAHAYA MD FAROUK, CALLS FOR UNITY AND OPTIMISM IN 2026

The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, has issued a New Year message calling on Nigerians of goodwill to join forces with the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo to build a prosperous nation and state.
In his message, Engr. Farouk praised the accomplishments of the Ododo administration across various sectors in Kogi State and expressed confidence that with purposeful leadership, unity of purpose, religious tolerance, and development, Kogi State will become a model for others to emulate.
“The 2026 State Budget has set the tone for accelerated socioeconomic growth and development in the state,” Engr. Farouk said. “I urge citizens to keep hope alive and join hands with the Ododo administration to address challenges such as insecurity, poverty, and unemployment, which have been on the decrease in recent times.”
Engr. Farouk expressed optimism that the dream of the founding fathers of Kogi State would be achieved under Governor Ododo’s leadership and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to maintaining a strong synergy with the Tinubu administration to advance the state’s interests.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2025, despite challenges, Engr. Farouk wished everyone a prosperous 2026, stating that “the Kogi of our dreams must be achieved. We must keep hope alive and collectively ensure a conducive atmosphere for good governance to thrive.”
He also urged Kogites to remain focused on their aspirations for a greater Kogi State, emphasizing that their unwavering support is necessary for the state government to succeed in its future aspirations.
The Commissioner expressed optimism of a more service delivery by the Ministry of Water Resources, concluded by calling on all stakeholders to work together to build a better Kogi State, stating that “with unity, purpose, and determination, we can achieve greatness.”
