Following the launch of the Nigeria Police National Command and Control (Public Safety Center) of a Free Help Apps called “NPF Rescue-me” by IGP Mohammed Adamu, the technology has began operation.
The App is a free emergency call alert app for all emergencies that provides direct emergency notification to the Nigerian Police Force Command and Control (Public Safety Center) nationwide.
Adamu while speaking to top police management team including Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Command CPs via a virtual conference said, “NPF Rescue-me App is a Smart technology that allows users (Nigerian citizens) to request for specific help depending on the severity of the situation, from Rape, Domestic violence, Robbery, Kidnapping etc”.
He directed the States Command to take advantage of the technology to “help people in needs”.
Each command is equipped with technology to manage its own operations.
The IGP also directed d the CPs to ensure all the C4i offices in various commands are open for emergency calls from rescue-me app 24hrs.
The application provides Optional notification for Friends and family tracking that allows designated friends, family, and loved ones to view location in real-time if the user send emergency to police.

Recall that two weeks ago, there was a tour/operationalization of the technology by the Police national command.
The project was done by an indigenous Systems Integrator, one of the ICT leading company in Nigeria, Gulf Technologies Networks.
