National Youth Day: National Youth Council of Nigeria, KOGI STATE Chapter Congratulates Nigerian Youth On The Maiden Edition


 

The Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Comrade Israel Alonge heartily congratulates Kogi Youths on the occasion of the Maiden National Youth Day Celebration.

The National Youth Day will be celebrated to draw attention to the myriad of challenges that young people in Nigeria are facing, and to find solutions to these issues as they affect the youths, with the theme “Youthfulness, Leadership and Good governance”.

The congratulatory message which is contained in a press release from the office of the Chairman reads:

“The National Youth Day celebration is coming on the heels of the recent happenings in our country, where the youths are asking for institutional and endearing changes that will make our country a better place. Our current situation calls for wisdom and dialogue so that we can move forward as a people united with one purpose and one destiny.

“President Muhammadu Buhari on 2nd September, 2020 approved November 1st every year as the National Youth Day. The president in approving the National Youth Day has reiterated the fact that he has listened to the demands of the youths and he is working on the realization of such demands which is why the President demonstrated his commitment to the Youths by approving the establishment of a N75 billion Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF).

“The NYIF is to serve as a Youth Bank that will fund and support the innovative ideas, skills, talents and entrepreneurship of the Nigerian Youth.

“On the strength of this magnanimous gesture, we want to use this auspicious moment in the lives of the Nigerian Youths to thank President Muhammadu Buhari and the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare for supporting the Nigerian youths to have their own platform where issues affecting them can be dissected dispassionately.

“We also want to specially thank and celebrate our very own Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his political savvy and for always providing leadership and direction for the Nigerian youths.

“We also celebrate him heartily for agreeing to host the maiden conference of the National Youth Day celebration at the Glass House of the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja from November 9th to November 10th, 2020.

“The Conference will engage participants in lively discussions and debates with breakout sessions, with a view to recommending workable solutions to the remote and immediate challenges confronting the Nigerian youths”.

“The theme of this maiden edition of the National Youth Conference is “Youthfulness , Leadership and Good Governance”. The Conference will provide the opportunity for the different speakers to discuss the place of the youths in the scheme of things in our dear country in partnership with Governments at all levels.
