At the yearly National peace award that was held today at the international conference centre(ICC) Abuja, many eminent personalities that cut across sectors like Economy, Politics, Entertainment, Business and many more, were recepient of different prestigious award from the non governmental organisation.
The Honourable Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi state, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA was bestowed with a prestigious award for his exceptional role as a people oriented Public office holder and a competent Financial expert, under whose leadership many excellent policy formulations, viable economic reforms, sound financial management, innovative revenue generation and easy of doing business in the state was engendered. His stellar records of impactful services and productive output in his mandated offices is in the open for all to access, the organisers stated.
Premised on these commendable milestones hilighted above, it suffice to recognise his modest effort with the Award of most innovative and investment drive personality of the year.
In his response, Asiwaju expressed his deepest gratitude to the organisers, with admixture of honour and humility. He said whatever he might have done to deserve the honour, he will continually build on it, saying the award will spur him to do more in service to humanity and also to the state in terms of opening the confluence of investment potentials in the state to the global world.
The Honourable Commissioner said Kogi state is a land hugely blessed with abundant human, natural and mineral resources, which is largely untapped, but said under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello the narrative is gradually changing. One of the proactive steps, is the Kogi State Economic summit that will be holding in the first quarter of year 2022, saying it will be a plartform where viable investors will meet abundant investment opportunities in the confluence. We will further tell our stories to the world to know how blessed we are in the state in terms of investment potentials, ease of doing business indices, water tight security and the receptive people we have as inhabitants.
He dedicated the award to his boss, leader and Friend, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for providing him the platform to serve and provide selfless service to the people. He acknowledged his purposeful and visionary leadership style which he said has steadily changed the hitherto unimpressive realities of Kogi state to a Progressive trajectory.
He thanked the organisers and pledged to never let down the trust and confidence reposed on him as a recipient of the prestigious award.
