NAKOSS Condemns Killing of FUL Student, Caution Youths Against Get Rich Quick Syndrome.

 

The National Association of Kogi State Students, has condemned in it entirety the recent killing of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old 100 level student of the Federal University Lokoja.

While condemning the brutal Killing in its strongest terms, the NAKOSS National President, Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo, in a statement described the act as a height of man’s inhumanity against his fellow man.

In a statement issued to Newsmen, the National President described as unfortunate the quest to get rid syndrome by youths, condemned the heinous act in its entirety.

He vowed to ensure a stop to such deadly activities of ritual killing by Yahoo Yahoo boys in Kogi State, described as foolishness to think that money making ritual is the way to go.

Recalled that the prime suspect in the killing of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old 100 level student at the Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State, Jeremiah Paul, confessed that he lured the deceased to the bush and killed her for money ritual.

Aged 20, Jeremiah hails from Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State.

The NAKOSS President in a swift reaction to express the dismay of the Association notes with emphasis that the association is deeply saddened by the death of the Students, cautioned against any form of antisocial vices.

He assured that the unfortunate incidence has called for the need for parents to beyond sending their children to school, monitor their activities as well as instill good moral upbringing on their Children.

While he called on the respective security agencies to ensure that the pepetrators are brought to book, said NAKOSS would no longer condone any brutish act of killing of her members within and outside the State.

The NAKOSS President called on the appropriate agencies handling the matter leading to the killing of the student to ensure that justice is served as at when due for the victim and her family.

He praised the Nigerian police for a Job well done in arresting the culprits, described the activities of some young people who are in a hurry to make money as regrettable.

He equally advised parents to regularly check on the activities of their children who are in the higher institution, said the need to constantly put an eye on them has become very necessary, urge youth to embrace hardwork, moral and spiritual beliefs towards becoming better leaders.
