Musa Ahmadu’s Thank You Tour; ADC Building Trust and Momentum Ahead of 2027 in Kogi West

By Abdulmalik Suleiman
The political landscape in Kogi West is changing, and ahead of the 2027 Senatorial election, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is gaining serious momentum and it is starting with gratitude, unity, and presence. Since winning the ADC primary and receiving INEC’s nod, Alh. Musa Ahmadu, the party’s candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District, has embarked on a thank you tour across Yagba areas Isanlu, Mopa, Iyara, Odo-Ere and other LGAs. The goal is simple, to appreciate the people and stakeholders who stood with the party.

It’s not a hidden fact that the ruling All Progressives Congress APC is in total disarray in the senatorial district, making ADC the reliable alternative for 2027. The frustration on ground is real as ADC is increasingly gaining momentum due to many factors, especially the failure of the APC government to tame insecurity and the deteriorating standard of living. “In Okun, by 7pm you won’t see a single soul outside. Once lively communities are now a shadow of themselves.” People are tired of fear and hardship, and they want representation that is close, competent, and compassionate.

Alh. Ahmadu was not alone on the tour. He was accompanied by political heavyweights who have served Kogi State at different levels, including former Secretary to Kogi State Government, Mrs. Justina Abanida; former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olusegun Simoyan, former Lokoja LGA Council Chairman, Alh. Mohammed Bologi Yabagi, former Kogi State House of Assembly Member, Alh. Danladi Bababudan, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed Balga, former Kogi LGA council chairman Hon Abdulkarim Isah Ecomog, ADC Lokoja LGA Chairman, Alh. Hadi, ADC Kogi LGA Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Otaru; ADC State Publicity Secretary, Alh. Bawa Yakubu, Hon. Dayo Akande, Ramat Usman, M.O. Sule and other leaders.
The entourage were received by candidates of House of Reps, and Assembly and prominent leaders notable among them are Hon. Chief Rufus Idris Femi, Hon Dayo Akande etc
Speaking in the various LGAs, Alh. Mohammed Bologi Yabagi told the audience, “We came to thank the people of Okun land for conceding the Senate seat to Lokoja/Koton Karfe. We promise you that Ahmadu will not disappoint you.
What thrilled the people most was the candidate himself. At every point, Ahmadu spoke in Yoruba dialect, and seeing him communicate in their local dialect gave the people a sense of pride, respect, and belonging. It sent a clear message that their culture and voice will have a place in the Senate. That connection is backed by experience, as Ahmadu is an administrator, a technocrat, and in all, a God fearing individual who has served as Commissioner, Member of the House of Representatives, and Secretary to the Government of Kogi State.
Party leaders say the tour has already achieved its aim. Abdulmalik Suleiman, the immediate past Publicity Secretary, described the tour as a huge success, saying ADC will overrun the ruling party in the area come 2027. He added that Ahmadu is God’s project that is needed at this material time.
This thank you tour is doing more than building momentum. It is healing divisions, rebuilding trust, and uniting the party structure from state to LGA level ahead of the main campaign. With APC fractured and ADC presenting a united front with a candidate of experience and character, Kogi West has a real alternative in 2027. The streets of Okun used to be full of life by 7pm, and with the right representation that life can return. From what we are seeing on this tour, the people believe Ahmadu and ADC can deliver it.
