Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA Mourns the Shocking Demise of Gen Paul Okutimo Rtd


Condoles With the Family Members

The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the entire family of Okutimo, Ogbom community and the whole progressive family in Yagba East LGA over the shocking demise of a celebrated retired General and an Elderstateman, Rtd Gen Paul Okutimo, whose death occurred 11th July, 2021.

Asiwaju in his message of commiseration released through his media aide, described the deceased as a retired military General with an unparalleled imbue of professionalism whose array of achievements and great strides while in active service sets him apart as one of the best officer the Nigerian Army has ever produced. Even in retirement, his commitment towards achieving a secured and peaceful society is highly commendable.

“Gen Okutimo Rtd until his God willed transition to Glory was a great father figure, a community builder, an Elderstateman with progressive ideology and a humanitarian per excellence. No doubt, I will persoanlly miss his fatherly advice that seeks to promote peace, unity and development in our domain and beyond. He was a sound advisor and a moral compass that would consistently press on me nothing but productive service to our people and development of the land”.

The commissioner said, the erstwhile Security Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello and also the immediate Past Elders Advisory Council Chairman, Yagba Federal Constituency, was a loyal stalwart of the APC and a dedicated New Direction Ambassador, who gave all within his reach to strengthen the party and swell the support base of His Excellency in the Federal Constituency and it subsets. Until his death, he was a great lover, promoter and supporter of Governor Yahaya Bello and his administration, Asiwaju stated.

To say the obvious, Kogi State has lost a National figure. Okun land is in deficit of a revered Elderstateman. Yagba federal constituency has lost a progressive voice. Yagba East has missed out on an invaluable asset. Ogbom community has lost an illustrious son whose impact has left an indelible Mark in the life of the people and community.

He prays that God Almighty will forgive the deceased shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in the heavenly bossom. He also prayed that God should grant the immediate family and extended the fortitude to bear these collosal loss.
