More Kogi Communities to enjoy electrification in 2022 – Rural Development Commissioner.


 

The Kogi State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Daniel Oniel Ejigbo says the present administration would electrify more communities in the State in the coming year.

According to the Commissioner, the 2022 budget captured several communities to be electrified, described the present administration as very Rural Development friendly.

The Commissioner listed the Installation of 500KVA/33KV/0.415KV at Igala Unity House, Installation of transformer at Inozi/Ageva, Okene LGA, as well as the Installation of transformer at Central bank Area community, Lokoja as area covered in the current year.

The Commissioner said the general objective of setting up the Ministry of Rural Development is to Provide, support and maintain, in collaboration and partnership with government ministries, departments, agencies and other partners, provide essential public facilities and services, such as water and sewer systems.

He added that the ministry also provides housing, health clinics, rural feeder roads, emergency service facilities and electric power) that will improve the economy, welfare, infrastructure and quality of life in rural areas, said more communities have been captured to be electrified in the coming year.

Hon. Ejigbo equally listed Installation of transformer at Kogi State Hajj Commission, Lokoja, the completion of 33KV electricity overhead line extension from Zango-Daji junction to Banda in Kogi State amongst areas captured in the current year’s budget.
