MOP Must Be on the Ballot in 2027 — Seun Kuti
Abuja — Chairman of the Movement of the People (MOP), Comrade Seun Anikulapo-Kuti, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to expedite action on the registration of the organisation as a political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kuti made the appeal on Monday during a visit to INEC headquarters in Abuja, where he also addressed journalists.
He stated that the Movement of the People has met all legal and administrative requirements for registration and is now waiting for the electoral body to complete the process.
“The Movement of the People must be on the ballot box,” Kuti said, insisting that the inclusion of the group in the 2027 elections is essential for “breaking the barrier between development and underdevelopment” in Nigeria.
