Muslims in Kogi State have been urged to ensure peaceful coexistence with one another and people of other Faith.
The Kogi State Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Ambassador Usman Bello gave the charge at a press conference to mark the occasion of Maulud Nabiyy 1443 A.H, said in Islam, the Prophet remains an example in promoting good leadership, urged Muslims to keep distance from evil, lol p in order to merit the divine mercy.
All over the world, Muslims would use the period of Maulud Nabiyy to celebrate the birth and seal of Prophet-hood, whose message of unity of the creator has stood the test of time for over One thousand, four hundred years.
It is in the light of this that Muslims were asked to see the birth of Prophet Mohammed as the birth of a very unique illumination, guidance, Faith and righteousness.
The State Chairman urged Muslims to use the period for sober reflection and not a period to indulge in sinful acts such as hanging out with people of opposite sex and similar vices.
He disclosed that the celebration should be used to celebrate good and avoid evil, by celebrating the best of mankind, called on Islamic organizations in the State to sustain the peace which usually characterizes the celebration of Maulud Nabiyy in the State.
Amb. Usman described Islam as a peaceful and understanding religion, enjoined Muslims to emulate the noble Prophet of Islam whose life and times would continue to serve as a beacon of light for humanity.
The State Chairman, JNI congratulated Gov. Yahaya Bello on the celebration of Maulud Nabiyy, prayed for the success of the administration in the State, prayed and wished him well in his future political aspiration.
In an admonition by Sheikh Usman Tauheed, Imam of JNI Masjid, he disclosed that the problem of Islam is not leadership, described the Prophet as a good leader with excellent character, insisting that the problem with Islam is the followership, urged followers to follow the excellent characters of the Prophet for a reward of love and to enjoy the sweetness of the Prophet.
He described the Prophet as a symbol of celebration, urged all moslems in the world to renew their love for the Prophet
