… Stakeholders Reaffirm Support for Tinubu, Ododo, Karimi Ahead of 2027
Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi West Senatorial District have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and Senator Sunday Karimi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached on Sunday during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held at Rivaton Hotel, Lokoja, which drew a mammoth crowd of party faithful. In attendance were members of the APC State Executive, elected council chairmen, top party officials, political appointees, and youth and women leaders from the seven local government areas of the district.
The meeting was convened to review political developments and chart strategies for strengthening the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Stakeholders commended Senator Karimi, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Senate Services, for effective representation, consistent engagement with constituents, and his efforts at attracting development projects to communities across Kogi West.
They also applauded President Tinubu for his commitment to improving security and the welfare of Nigerians, particularly residents of Kogi West, expressing confidence in the administration’s ongoing reforms.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Karimi thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him and assured them of his commitment to quality representation through impactful legislation, effective oversight, and constituency projects.
He urged APC members to remain united and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party, stressing that unity remains the APC’s greatest strength.
According to him, the successes recorded by the APC in Kogi West over the years were achieved through collective effort, mutual respect, and the shared commitment of party members to the growth and development of the district. He charged stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation to consolidate the party’s support base and ensure victory for the APC in 2027.
On security, Senator Karimi commended President Tinubu for initiating discussions on the establishment of state police, describing it as a bold step toward addressing the country’s security challenges. He noted that previous administrations had avoided the issue, but the Tinubu administration has demonstrated the political will to confront it.
The Senator also lauded the President for approving four additional military zones to the existing eight, saying it underscored the administration’s resolve to tackle insecurity.
“Previous governments were afraid to talk about state police, but President Tinubu has taken the bull by the horns. This is how to prioritise the security and welfare of the people. The establishment of state police will greatly strengthen the country’s security architecture,” he said.
Several stakeholders pledged their continued loyalty to Senator Karimi and described his performance as deserving of sustained support.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by party leaders and members to strengthen the APC in Kogi West, sustain internal unity, and work collectively to deliver victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
