Mama Ojochogwu Awa Okayi goes home as religious leader calls for exemplary living
The remains of mother of the General Overseer of Abiding Word Miracle Center, Bethsaida Church, Mama Ojochogwu Awa Okayi was on Friday, laid to rest at her Country home, Olufofo in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The burial ceremony which was held at Bethsaida Mission House, Anyigba, attracted dignitaries from far and near, including religious leaders, opinion moukders, traditional rulers, members of the academic, as well as friends and associates and the Bethsaida family.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of Abiding Word of Light Church, Abuja, Bishop Dan Okai said every man should strife to leave worthy legacies while alive.
Bishop Dan Okai admonished the Congregation to learn from the life style of Mama Awa Ojochogwu whom he noted, was an ordained Elder despite her age.
The religious leader who spoke on the topic “there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven, explained that there is always reward for every good works.
He described the late Mama Ojochogwu Awa as one with too many Children due to her generosity and faith in Christ, emphasizing that life is all about sowing seeds of goodness as late Mama lived a life of prayer, giving and evangelism.
In his speech, the only biological son of the deceased and founder of Abiding Word and Miracles Centre, Bethsaida Church, Reverend (Doctor) Emmanuel Okayi described her late mother as a gift to the family, stressing that she was a blessing beyond measure.
Reverend Emmanuel Okayi appealed to Christians to always embrace Christ’s life style in order to enjoy God’s divine blessings as well as attain eternity which is utmost.
”Mama was a quentessential woman, a woman of valour, a woman of faith and love, and indeed, a woman full of compassion, her legacies will continue to live even beyond her and that is what we want everyone to emulate”, Reverend Emmanuel Okayi stated.
The General Overseer appreciated those who came from far and near and stood by the family at the moment of grief and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
Mama Ojochogwu Awa Okayi died on the thirty first of January at the ripe age of one hundred and seventeen.
