The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir 11, says the title of the Shugaban Afemai Lokoja to be conferred on Alh. Zakari Dangana is based out of his
selfless contributions to the development of Lokoja.
The Maigari of Lokoja made the disclosure when Sheikh Khalifa Arif Yabagi led a delegation of the Afemai Community to pay homage to the traditional ruler for conferring the the title of the Shugaban Afemai Lokoja on Alhaji Zakari Dangana to thank him and to get the salutations of the title.
Afemai Community is made up of people from Edo State and majorly reside in local government areas of the Edo North Senatorial District.
The salutations of the Shugaban Afemai Lokoja, which the traditional ruler disclosed is Daudu, said Alhaji Dangana’s contribution to the modern day Lokoja remains unquantifiable.
The Maigari of Lokoja commended Alh Zakari Dangana, urged him to see the title as a call for more service to Lokoja and Kogi State at large.
While he admonished others to emulate the qualities of Alh. Dangana, the Maigari appealed to the Shugaban to lead the Afemai Community in Lokoja with the fear of God.
Earlier in a remarks, Alhaji Zakari Dangana, the Shugaban Afemai of Lokoja assured the Maigari of his loyalty to Lokoja Emirate Council, promised to continue in the stead that gave him the title.
Highlights of the homage was the offering of prayers by Sheikh Khalifa Arif Yabagi.
The official turbanning of the Shugaban Afemai Lokoja would come up on the 21st day of July, 2021 at the Maigari’s Palace, with reception holding immediately at the residence of the Shugaban Afemai by Abiodun Ojo Filling Station Lokongama.
