By joshua MAIGARI OF LOKOJA BACKS POWER ROTATION, says Governor Ododo’s honesty is assurance of equity, as Omoluabi-led advocacy group intensifies effort
The agitation for constitutionality recognized equitable ways of power rotation in Kogi received a major boost today, as the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV supports the noble effort, describing it as a timely advocacy that would guarantee peace and unity which is what the traditional institution represent.
The Maigari made those comments during the advocacy visit of the KOGI UNITY ACCORD, a social cultural and political advocacy group registered to promote the idea and principles of equitable power and resource distribution at all levels in Kogi State.

Advocate, Omoluabi Bode ADEYEMI. The group says its objectives is to instigate a popular acceptance for the soon to be presented bill for equitable power distribution in Kogi State, relying on the federal character provisions in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
While speaking to the royal father, team lead, Omoluabi described the visit as one engineered by the burning desire to find lasting solutions to the perennial crude power grab politics that have torn the cord of love that is expected to exist among existing ethnic tribes in the state.
He further said the journey of governance of thirty six years in the state have been largely characterized by ethnic suspicion, political animosity and deep seated disagreement along ethnic line, which is dangerous to both development and the people.
Omoluabi says the wisdom, neutrality and fairness of the traditional and religious leaders will guide the process and produce a lasting document that will be binding on all in the overall interest of the state. He describe this moment as a historically defining period where posterity is about to find its positive side on the activity around the laudable initiative.
While responding, the Maigeri of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV commended the initiators for their thoughtfulness and patriotism that have given birth to this noble agenda. He encouraged the organizers not to be weary or discouraged as posterity will speak good of them.
The royal father further said the idea will promote atmosphere of peace, unity and development.
The monarch said such a brilliant idea is coming under the administration of man who has the integrity and the courage to create the enabling environment for the smooth sailing of the idea. HoR commended Governor Usman Ododo for quality leadership and good governance evident all around.
