Lokoja Traditional Title Holders, Community, Hold Grand Reception For New Maigari Of Lokoja
The Traditional Title Holders and its Community in Lokoja Local Government Area, today organised a grand reception in honor of newly appointed Maigari Of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, Makarfi 1V at Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja.
The grand reception witnessed a massive crowd including hunters, fishermen, market women, politicians and government officials who came to honour the new Maigari Of Lokoja since his appointment last year.
The Maigari was received into the reception ground by all the traditional title holders and the entire people from Lokoja Community in jubilant mood.
The traditional ruler, Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir thanked the organisers of the programme, prayed God to bless all those behind the epoch making occasion. He also appreciated them for their good deed since he assumed office, pointing out that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of disunity.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler promised not to disappoint his people, also used the occasion to confer chieftaincy titles on some prominent indigenes of “Lokoja local government area”
The chairman of traditional title holders, Sen. Tunde Ogbeha noted that Lokoja is blessed to have someone like Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as the Maigari of Lokoja, according to him, ” on behalf of all the the traditional title holders in Lokoja expressed appreciation to all those indigenes who graciously attended this programme”, he said.
Sen. Ogbeha further stressed the need for given maximum support and cooperation to the newly installed Maigari of Lokoja saying that he was very happy that the event attracted all the people from Lokoja community and all the traditional title holders from Lokoja and neighbouring areas in Kogi state.
In his remarks, Rt. Honourable Speaker, Umar Yusuf Aliyu pledged the full support of the state Government, congratulated the new monarch and also prayed for his successful reign on throne.
“On behalf of the kogi state government, I congratulate you on this momentous and historic occasion.
“We assure you of our full support, describing the late Maigari of lokoja , the late father of the new traditional ruler as a principled and forthright mornach who contributed to the development of Lokoja, Kogi state and the country, urged the new Maigari to sustain the legacy left behind by his ancestors.
“ It is this responsibility of this illustrious legacy that your royal majesty bear from this day forward.
“All who know you are convinced that you will discharge these responsibilities with great wisdom and integrity that your great ancestors had all along displayed, he added.
