The Lokoja Forum of Patriots has congratulated the Chairman of the World Energy Council Nigeria, Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, on the inauguration of the council’s board.
The congratulatory statement, signed by the Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Idris Baba’Ango, was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday.
The forum described the inauguration as a significant milestone for Nigeria’s energy sector, expressing confidence in Kutepa’s leadership, experience and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the development of the sector.
Baba’Ango said Kutepa’s emergence as Chairman of WEC Nigeria was a source of pride to the people of Lokoja and Kogi State, describing it as an opportunity for Nigeria to further strengthen its presence and influence within the global energy community.
He noted that the energy sector remained critical to Nigeria’s economic development, stressing the need for experienced professionals and stakeholders to work together in addressing challenges confronting the sector.
The LFP chairman expressed confidence that Kutepa would provide purposeful leadership to the council and promote initiatives that would support sustainable energy development, investment and innovation in Nigeria.
He also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated board, urging them to work as a team and remain committed to the objectives of the World Energy Council.
According to him, the board’s inauguration marked the beginning of a new chapter for Nigeria’s participation in the World Energy Council and presented an opportunity to advance the country’s interests in the international energy space.
The forum further commended the Federal Government for steps taken to deepen Nigeria’s participation in global energy discussions and partnerships.
Baba’Ango said the Lokoja Forum of Patriots was particularly delighted to identify with Kutepa’s achievement, describing his appointment as a development that deserved the support and goodwill of Nigerians.
He prayed for wisdom, good health and a successful tenure for Kutepa, while urging him to use his position to promote initiatives that would have positive impacts on Nigeria’s energy future.
The forum also congratulated other members of the board and wished them success as they take on the responsibility of steering the affairs of WEC Nigeria.
The Lokoja Forum of Patriots is the organiser of the annual Lokoja Boat Regatta, an initiative aimed at promoting Lokoja’s rich cultural heritage, tourism and its historic position at the confluence of the Rivers Niger and Benue.
