The people of Kupa South have made an appeal to Gov. Yahaya Bello and Hon. Abdullahi Bello, APC Chairman to ensure that equity, justice and fairness prevails in the forthcoming primaries of the APC for Lokoja 2 State Constituency.
The people of Kupa South if Lokoja LGA made the appeal while addressing pressman in Lokoja, appealed to Gov. Yahaya Bello, leader of the APC in Kogi State to ensure that equity, justice and fairness is made to prevail in who represents the people of Lokoja 2 in the next State House of Assembly.
Spokesman of the Group, Musa Kaki, while briefing the press, disclosed that every Ward in Lokoja two has had the opportunity to represent Lokoja 2 in the Assembly.
According to Alhaji Musa, the current House of Assembly Member, Idris Ndakwo is from Oworo Ward. Mohammed Saba and Hon. Dangana Abdulrahman have represented the area in time past, hail from Kupa North.
The spokesman added that Hon. Danladi Bababudon, who hail from Kakanda Ward, has represented Lokoja 2 while Dr. Shehu Idris from Eggan Ward had at one time also represented the Constituency, said it is the turn of Kupa South.
Alhaji Musa said it would be unfair and injustice for a district with qualified persons who can offer quality representation to be sidelined are marginalized, urged Gov. Yahaya Bello and the APC to take into cognisance the negative consequences that would be done to the people of Kupa South if they are denied the opportunity.
The group said it is throwing it weight in favour of Haruna Kabir Alfa, an Aspirant from Kupa South seeking to represent the people of Lokoja 2 in the State House of Assembly in 2023.
The group disclosed that Alhaji Haruna, National President, APC National Youth Vanguard and a seasoned journalists, is eminently qualified to offer quality representation, called on the APC in the State, particularly the Lokoja chapter to look into the issue of marginalization that would be done to Kupa South if not allowed to produce the next House of Assembly member for Lokoja 2.
Alhaji Haruna, a graduate of Bayero University, also hold a Master Degree from the same University, served as member of the women and youth in the presidential campaign team of President Mohammadu Buhari in 2019 is a Frontline Aspirant for the Lokoja 2 State Constituency election.
