LIGHTING UP AVRUGO: HON. MARTINA AMEH BRIGHTENS ALL POLLING UNITS WITH SOLAR STREET LIGHTS
In a rare display of grassroots impact and responsive representation, the Honourable Councilor representing Avrugo Ward in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Martina Ameh, has delivered and installed solar-powered street lights across all polling units in the ward.
The people-centred project was formally presented at a briefing and presentation meeting held at the palace of the Achema Atta Igala Avrugo, Chief Philip Adama, at Eke-Avrugo, where the Councilor met with constituents to unveil the intervention.
Hon. Martina Ameh said the Community Solar Project is part of her continued commitment to enhanced service delivery aimed at improving the livelihood, security and wellbeing of the people of Avrugo Ward.
For residents who had endured years of darkness in public spaces at night, the installation of the solar lights across all polling units has brought immediate relief, improved visibility, enhanced security and extended socio-economic activities into the evening hours.
The traditional ruler, Chief Philip Adama, alongside members of his traditional council, offered royal prayers for the Councilor and expressed profound happiness and satisfaction with her performance since her assumption of office. He described her representation as practical, visible and people-focused, and assured her of the continuous support of the entire Avrugo Ward.
In their separate remarks, leaders, stakeholders, women, youth groups and party faithful present at the meeting showered encomiums on Hon. Martina Ameh. They lauded her for breaking the jinx of representation without impact and for prioritizing projects that directly touch the lives of the ordinary people. They unanimously pledged their continuous support and cooperation to her administration.
They also prayed for and wished the Councilor more successful years ahead as she continues to discharge her responsibilities as their worthy representative.
