Major General Julius Olakunle Sunday Oshanupin (rtd) will June 25, add yet another, to his many medals.
The new addition is coming at the instance of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, ( EACDA)which is saddling the indefatigable general, with a LifeTime Achievement Award.
According the President of the Socio-Cultural association, Mr. Abiodun Olorunleke, the award is the highest honour reserved for Senior Citizens of the community, who have records of unparalleled commitment to the development of the community.
Olorunleke confirmed Gen. Oshanupin, to have diligently deploy his wealth of experience and energy to all efforts that will facilitate institutional capacity building for the development of the community.
Oshanupin, a Regular Combatant Commissioned Officer into the Nigerian Army Amour Corps, was a product of the
Nigerian Defence Academy – Kaduna Nigeria.
He has attended several Specialist Courses at home and abroad, including Command and Staff College,
National Defence College and the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a Masters of Science degree in Strategic Studies.
Gen. Oshanupin held several Command and Staff appointments including:
Battalion Commander,
Staff appointments at Corps, Army and Defence Headquarters,
Contingent/ Battalion Commander in the United Nations Operations in Somalia (UNOSOM);
He was Directing Staff at the Command and Staff College,
Commander Guard’s Brigade Nigerian Army,
Commander, Nigerian Army Amour Corps,
General Officer Commanding 3 Amoured Division, Nigerian Army;
Deputy Commandant/ Director of Studies, National Defence College; and
Chief of Defence Research & Development.
Others include: Platoon Commander, United Nations Interim Force Lebanon;
Company Commander – OAU Peace Keeping Force Tchad Repulic;
Battalion/ Contingent Commander – United Nations Operations in Somalia (UNOSOM).
He was Member, United Nations Training Assistance Team to UNAVEM Angola.
