
LG Workers Welfare: Emulate Gov. Ododo, Kogi NULGE President Tasks Other Governors
…As He Bags Nigerian Youth Congress Lifetime Ambassadorial Award

The Kogi State President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Comr. Mohammed Sanusi has called on other Governor’s in the country to emulate the priority placed on the welfare of Local Government workers by Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, pointing out that a robust Local Government Administration remains a panacea to checking rural urban drift.

The NULGE President added that Gov. Ododo has since assumption of office ensured that Local Government workers enjoy the benefit of democracy through his regular payment of salaries, payment of minimum wage and to bring Local Government workers at par with their State counterparts.

The NULGE President made the disclosure when he received the Nigerian Youth Congress Lifetime Ambassadorial Award.

The Lifetime Ambassadorial Award was presented to Comr. Mohammed Sanusi, President of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, Kogi State.

The NULGE President was bagged the award of Industrial Harmony and Leadership for his collective commitment to fostering a harmonious and progressive society.
The Nigerian Youth Congress Lifetime Ambassadorial Award was presented to Comr. Sanusi by the North Central Stakeholders Forum Chairman, Comr. Ebune Alfa.
Comr. Sanusi explained that Gov. Ododo has brought smiles to the faces of LG workers, described his administration as one that has revived the LG system of administration.
” In 2027, Gov. Ododo will know that the Local Government Workers are his immediate Constituency”.
” We are once again reiterating the stand of Local Government workers that there is no vacancy in Lugard House in 2027. We say it with all the seriousness it deserves because Gov. Ododo has put smiles on the faces of LG workers and primary school Teachers”.
The NULGE President saluted the courage of Nigerian Youth Congress, North Central Zone for recognizing the efforts of Gov. Ododo in lifting LG workers out of the woods, thanked God for Former Gov. Yahaya Bello for choosing Ododo as his successor.
In his presentation, Comr. Alfa Ebene praised the principles of fairness, unity and service that has made a profound impact on the lives of many, particularly, workers at the Local Government Areas.
He Commended the NULGE President for his steadfast resolve to champion the rights of workers at the Local Government and to ensure that their voice is heard.
He equally commended him for making positive differences in the lives of others by showing empathy, accountability and resilience, urged youths of the State to emulate his leadership qualities.
Highlights of the award presentation was the reading of the citation of the Kogi State NULGE President where he was identified to have worked tirelessly for the improvement of local Government employees condition of service, focussing on fair wages, job security and better working environment as well as the presentation of Nigerian Youth Congress Lifetime Ambassadorial Award.
