Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government election, the wife of All Progress Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate in Okene Local Government, Hajia Shefiat Abdulrazaq has assured women in the area of more opportunities, empowerments and chance to contribute ideas towards the development of the Council if her husband eventually emerge as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government.
Mrs Abdulrazaq maintain that as wife of the Chairman, she will surely use her influence to ensure women of the council especially those in active politics are adequately rewarded for their struggle and accomplish their hope of economic prosperity.
While she congratulates the Vice-chairmanship candidate of the party, Mrs Bilikisu Aliyu and other women councilorship candidates, she however, urge them to extend similar gestures to women in their respective wards and domains.
Speaking at a parley with women groups from the eleven wards of the Local Government at the campaign secretariat in Okene, she commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for giving women due recognition in government.
The prospective chair person of Okene Okene Local Government also enjoined the women to remain peaceful, preach peace and should continue to support the candidature of Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad and of course spread the gospel of his achievements and manifestoes to their neighbours at home.
Mrs Abdulrazaq said no meaningful development can take place without peace, therefore, tasked the women to show example by living peaceful with one another. She uses the opportunity to highlight her various intervention programs towards empowering women to be self-reliance.
Without mixing words, Hajia Shefiyat Abdulrazaq said her husband had distinguished himself in transforming Okene Local Government during his tenure as the council administrator. “Am confident he will do more for the people and give women their fair share in government”.
She commended them for their loyalty, commitment, dedication and steadfastness to the aspirations and political ideology of her husband, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad.
