By joshua Labour Leaders Pass Vote Of Confidence On Gov. Ododo As Workplace Security Campaign Team Visits Yagba East And West
The Workplace Security Campaign team continued its statewide tour on Wednesday with visits to Yagba West and Yagba East Local Government Areas.
Speaking separately with workers at the council secretariats in Odo-Ere and Isanlu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Kogi West, Comrade Ranti Ojo, PhD, called for a united front to sustain jobs and improve workers’ welfare.
He urged workers to critically assess the performance of the present administration in order to make informed decisions that will continue to benefit them and their dependants.
According to him, the achievements recorded by the Governor since assumption of office show clearly that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has workers’ interests at heart.
Comrade Ojo described the security sensitisation as a two-pronged approach covering both personal security and job security, and stressed that both must be taken seriously by all workers.
Also addressing the workers, the leader of the team and Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, said government remains committed to workers’ welfare. He cited the numerous achievements of the Ododo administration as evidence of responsive and people-oriented governance.
Comrade Edoka appealed to workers to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo in order to consolidate on the gains recorded so far and ensure continuity in policies that favour the workforce.
At Odo-Ere, the Chairman of NULGE in Yagba West, Comrade Olorunshola Helen Aduke, expressed appreciation to the present administration and passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ododo on behalf of the workers.
In Yagba East, the Chairman of NUP, Comrade Moses Oyebode, also commended government for its worker-friendly policies. He, however, appealed for the payment of outstanding gratuities to ease the hardship faced by pensioners.
The visits were rounded off with cultural performances by local groups, reflecting the unity and enthusiasm of workers in both local government areas.
