The Kogi state Community and Social Development Agency has flag off the construction of boreholes, clinic and renovation of a block of classrooms at Angwa – Ogebe and Abache Communities in Ankpa Local Government Area of the state.
The General Manager of the Agency, Chief Dauda Momoh, while Presenting the Cheques to the Communities, charged them to ensure that quality job is done within two months.
He said, Gov. Yahaya Bello, based on his magnanimity, has to reduce the Community financial commitment from 10% to 2.5% for the benefit of the communities.
He disclosed that the fund for the projects is readily available with the release of 30% initial tranche, to be followed by the second tranche which is contingent on the level of work done.
He challenged the people to justify the confidence repose in them by ensuring that the jobs are done according to specification and time schedule.
He urged them to take ownership of the projects by guarding against vandalisation while ensuring constant maintenance of the edifices.
The GM said the Agency will spend over fourteen million naira on the construction of a borehole and a clinic at Abache Community, while Angwar – Ogebe will experience renovation of a block of classrooms of their primary school and a borehole at the same cost.
In their seperate remarks, Chairman of CPMC of Abache , Suleiman Mohammed and the Magajiya, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed commended Gov. Yahaya Bello and the management of CSDA for rescuing them from age-long water scarcity in the area.
They assured of Delivery quality jobs within the stipulated time frame, stressing that the people will continue to mark this day as a day of liberty.
