KOSSAA HOLD STAKE HOLDERS MEETING, HARPS ON COLLABORATION.
Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA) in collaboration with Kogi State Internal Revenue Services (KGIRS) called for collaboration amongst stake holders for the economic development of the State.
This was stressed at the stakeholders meeting held at the Conference Hall of KGIRS, Lokoja on Tuesday 30th of April, 2024.
Addressing the meeting, the Executive Chairman Kogi State Internal Revenue Services Hon. Sule Salihu Enehe said the meeting was important as it provided an avenue for stakeholders to discuss on important issues that would lead to the economic development of the State.
He added that the core element that drived the development and advancement of any society is it revenue base, saying that without a good revenue the society would not grow or flourish.
He called on the stakeholders to be conversant with KOSSAA Law for healthy working relationship.
The Chairman who was represented by the Director MDA’s (KGIRS) Mr Olubumi Ajayi said the stakeholders meeting became necessary as Information about KOSSAA and it’s activities would be passed across to their members for compliance.
Also speaking a Consultant to Kogi State Government on Advertisement Tax, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu noted that KOSSAA was created to control, regulate, monitor and manage the mounting of billboards across the State.
He encouraged business owners in the State who are interested in displaying their products through the use of billboards, Signage or mobile branding Advertisement to register with KOSSAA for proper coordinations and regulations.
He also added that before any billboard could be mounted or public display of outdoors advertisement inform of bill boards and signage in Kogi State, approval must be gotten from the Agency.
Alhaji Aliyu encouraged the Associations to get the copy of the Law in other to have more knowledge about the Agency.
Responding the Chairman, Association of Community Pharmacist of Nigeria (ACPN) Dr Lawal Mah’d expressed satisfaction over the meeting, saying it thrown more lights on the activities of the Agency and the law establishing it.
According to him, with the information now available to them the associations have no reason than to comply with the law.
In attendance were the Chairmen and Secretaries of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Association of Community Pharmacist (ACPN), Kogi State Hotelier Association, Kogi State Table Water Association, Motto Cycle operator Union of Nigeria among others.
