Kogi Works Commissioner Lauds Gov. Bello’s Infrastructural Development


 

Commend adequate, timely provisions of funds to contractors as commitment to promise made.

Kogi state commissioner for works and housing, Engr Abubakar Ohere, FNSE has commended Governor Yahaya Bello on the level of work attained in all the infrastructural development projects ongoing across the state due to adequate and timely provisions of funds to the contractors, describing this as a commitment to promise made to the good people of Kogi state.

The commissioner who stated this today as part of the project monitoring exercise, disclosed the approval of His Excellency for the installation of an urban solar powered street lights across Kabba town ship with immediate effect. This is because Good lighting is not only a way of showcasing specific areas, it also improve security, strengthening in the community ties and enhance the attractiveness of towns and cities which helps shape the communities and accelerates economic and social development.

The Commissioner maintained that, Solar street lights are powered by photovoltaic panels, meaning they produce clean and sustainable energy. When choosing to rely on solar energy for public lighting projects, local authorities can effectively reduce their energy consumption as well as their carbon footprint. By doing so, they limit their environmental impact and play an active part in the energy transition, in line with national and global energy policies.

Engr Dr. Abubakar Ohere Also highlights that Governor Bello administration, despite the pandemic, had been carrying out physical projects.
“Our government has kept on with construction works on some of our roads in various part of the state has been constructed while some are still under construction. Our plan is to push our developmental project down to all nooks and crannies of the state because this what his Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello promised the good people of Kogi state, Engr. Ohere stated.”

Finally, he expressed delight that the state government under the leadership of Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello is committed to provide clean and reliable solar power installation street lights across Kabba town ship and this has shown that he is more committed towards the improvement in the wellbeing of his people in order to enchaced their standard of living.
