… Party leader highlights Senator’s contributions to infrastructure and empowerment, calls for unity within APC

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Idris Lokoja, has appealed for a fair and objective assessment of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi’s performance, stressing that the people of Kogi West Senatorial District should be allowed to determine their representation in 2027.

Hon. Lokoja, a committed APC member and strong supporter of the Senator, said while diverse opinions are welcome within the party, the ultimate decision on who represents Kogi West rests with the electorate of the district.

“The people of Kogi West have the right to choose their Senator at the appropriate time. It is important that we allow democratic processes to run their course without external interference,” he said.

Speaking on Friday, Hon. Lokoja acknowledged that Sen. Karimi has made notable contributions to the district since assuming office, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and human capital development. He expressed confidence that the Senator’s work has resonated positively with many constituents.

According to him, Sen. Karimi has facilitated several community-focused projects aimed at improving road networks, access to clean water, and electricity supply in parts of Kogi West. He also highlighted the Senator’s efforts in youth and women empowerment, including skills training and support for small-scale businesses.

“On the floor of the Senate, Sen. Karimi has consistently represented the interests of Kogi West. His engagements have reflected a commitment to addressing the needs of our people,” Hon. Lokoja noted.

He further described the Senator as a dedicated public servant who has earned the trust of a significant number of his constituents, and urged party members to remain united as the APC prepares for future elections.

“For Hon. Lokoja, Sen. Karimi’s track record makes him worthy of consideration for a second term. With the support of the people and by the grace of God, he believes the Senator will continue to serve the district effectively,” he added.

Hon. Lokoja concluded by calling for unity and understanding within the APC family in Lokoja LGA and across Kogi West, emphasizing that internal cohesion remains key to the party’s continued success in the state.
