By joshua KOGI WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER, ENGR. YAHAYA FAROUK, FELICITATES AGL YAKUBU ADABENEGE ON EMERGENCE AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF AUDITORS-GENERAL FORUM
The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya M.D Farouk, FNSE, has congratulated the Kogi State Auditor-General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Forum of Auditors-General for Local Government Councils in Nigeria.
The election took place during the 30th Conference of Auditors-General for Local Government Area Councils held in Lokoja, Kogi State.
In a congratulatory message on Friday, Engr. Farouk described the emergence of Hon. Adabenege as a landmark achievement that has brought pride to Kogi State and renewed hope for accountability at the grassroots.
“My dear brother and friend, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, this is a well-deserved honor. I am so pleased with you and with the excellence you continue to represent,” Engr. Farouk said.
“Without mincing words, you have worked with integrity, you have served with distinction, and today your colleagues across Nigeria have spoken loud and clear by entrusting you with this national leadership.”
The Commissioner noted that Hon. Adabenege’s leadership as Auditor General Local Government, Kogi State has been instrumental in strengthening transparency, blocking leakages, and ensuring that resources meant for local government development are properly accounted for.
“As a brother and friend in whom I am so pleased, I have watched you grow into one of the finest public servants of our generation. Your dedication to due process and your calm, professional approach to duty are worthy of emulation,” he added.
Engr. Farouk expressed confidence that under Hon. Adabenege’s chairmanship, the Forum will drive far-reaching reforms, adopt technology in auditing, and deepen collaboration with stakeholders including NULGE, ALGON and state governments in transparency and accountability.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants you the wisdom, the strength to lead, and the grace to deliver. Kogi is proud of you, and Nigeria’s local governments will be better for your leadership,” the Commissioner prayed.
Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege currently serves as the Auditor-General for Local Government in Kogi State. His unanimous emergence as National Chairman was widely celebrated by delegates and stakeholders at the conference.
