By joshua KOGI WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER, ENGR. FAROUK FELICITATES ARC. YOMI AWONIYI ON BIRTHDAY, CELEBRATES HIS LEGACY OF SERVICE AND ARCHITECTURAL EXCELLENCE
The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, has felicitated Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, on the auspicious occasion of his birthday, describing him as a statesman of repute, a professional par excellence, and a worthy ambassador of Kogi State.
In a birthday message, Engr. Farouk said Arc. Awoniyi’s life has been a shining example of service, humility and dedication to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
“Today we celebrate a man of vision, a thoroughbred professional and a leader who served Kogi State with distinction. As Deputy Governor, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi brought his wealth of experience in architecture and public administration to bear in governance, and his contributions remain part of the building blocks of our dear state,” the Commissioner stated.
Engr. Farouk noted that prior to his foray into politics, Arc. Awoniyi had already distinguished himself in the field of architecture, contributing to the built environment with professionalism and integrity. His tenure as Deputy Governor between 2003 and 2011 was marked by commitment to peace, unity and the advancement of the people of Kogi State.
The Commissioner further described Arc. Awoniyi as a bridge-builder, elder statesman and mentor to many, whose counsel continues to be invaluable to the progress of the state.
On behalf of the Ministry of Water Resources and the entire water sector in Kogi State, Engr. Farouk prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the celebrant.
“May Almighty Allah grant you long life in sound health, renewed strength, and greater wisdom to continue to serve humanity. As you mark another year, may your legacies of service, excellence and integrity continue to inspire generations,” he prayed.
He also reaffirmed that the Ododo administration remains committed to the ideals of good governance, infrastructural development and inclusive growth which Arc. Awoniyi championed during his years in public service.
