By joshua KOGI UNITY DEFENDERS APPEAL TO TINUBU, APC NWC TO SAFEGUARD PEACE AND UNITY AHEAD OF 2027
A political group, Kogi Unity and Good Governance Defenders, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to safeguard the unity, peace and political stability in Kogi State and the North Central ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, the Spokesperson of the group, Mrs. Mariam Danjuma, said Kogi State has remained a dependable stronghold of the APC and a reliable support base for President Tinubu because of the unity painstakingly built over the years.
Mrs. Danjuma acknowledged the unwavering loyalty of the people of Kogi State to the APC and their commitment to the success of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We are prepared to deliver overwhelming support for Mr. President in 2027. However, we are concerned by emerging political activities and external influences capable of creating unnecessary division, confusion and tension within the state and the region,” she said.
The group’s spokesperson respectfully urged President Tinubu and the APC NWC to “call those close to power to order, especially *Hon. James Faleke*, and urge them to respect existing constituted authorities, established leadership structures and the collective interest of the party.”
She further called for non-interference in the governance of Kogi State, stressing that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo should be allowed to discharge his responsibilities without undue interference.
“The democratic choices and aspirations of Kogi people must continue to be respected, as this remains essential to sustaining the confidence and unity that have positioned the state firmly behind President Tinubu,” Mrs. Danjuma added.
According to her, protecting the existing harmony within Kogi and the North Central is critical to preserving the bloc support the region has consistently offered the APC.
“Any avoidable internal division or political intimidation risks weakening the solidarity that has been carefully nurtured over the years,” she warned.
Mrs. Danjuma therefore appealed to President Tinubu and the APC NWC to safeguard the unity of Kogi State, call Hon. James Faleke and others to discontinue actions capable of causing discord, and reinforce an atmosphere of peace, cooperation and mutual respect.
“This, we believe, will guarantee an even stronger and more united support base for the APC and President Tinubu in 2027,” she concluded.
