Kogi State University Kabba Has Come To Stay, Not Politics – Hon Wemi Jones.


 

The Kogi State Commissioner For Education Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones says the Kogi State University Kabba has come to stay.

 

The Commissioner gave the assurances at a meeting with traditional rulers from Kabba Bunu LGA held in his office who came to attend a public hearing organised by the Kogi State House of Assembly for input into the establishment of the Kogi State University, Kabba.

The Commissioner explained that the dogged determination of Gov. Yahaya Bello to establish the University is not politics, said it the present administration’s commitment to ensuring that the area has a University.

Hon. Jones explained that by Monday next week the State Government will be visiting the National University Commission to seek or be issued with a letter of recognition.

Furthermore more effort to determine all the renovation work that needs to be done at the University before the invitation of the NUC for resource verification within the next one month he disclosed is underway

Similarly, the efforts to appoint the Vice Chancellor and other officials for the University would soon be made, described the efforts to establish the Kogi State University as a deliberate efforts by Gov. Bello, pointing out that God has used the Governor to establish a University in Okunland and located in Kabba.

Hon. Jones Called on Okun people to support the APC led Government so that the tree planted in the Kogi State University Kabba to take off will have solid roots and firmly on the ground.

Hon. Jones particularly called on the people of Kabba to support the APC led Government, said efforts is on to look for people to support the funding need of the University.

The Commissioner said the time for Kabba people to show gratitude to Gov. Bello for locating the University in Kabba cannot be overemphasized.
