Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has welcomed 4,591 new students into its seven schools and 57 academic programs, marking its 33rd matriculation ceremony. The event was presided over by Prof. Salisu O. Usman, the Rector of the institution.

In his address, Prof. Usman highlighted the polytechnic’s growth, noting that students from 33 states, representing 91.66% of the federation, are enrolled. He attributed this expansion to the institution’s academic stability, improved infrastructure, and security measures, including the recent fencing of the Itakpe Campus and installation of CCTV systems.

The Rector expressed gratitude to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his support, which has led to improved working conditions and staff welfare. The new students, comprising 52% male and 48% female, were admitted into National Diploma (ND I) and Higher National Diploma (HND I) programs.

Prof. Usman emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing a student-centered learning environment, with modern facilities and robust entrepreneurial training.
