Judges of the High Court of Justice, Kogi State will commence their annual vacation on Monday, 2nd August, 2021. This is pursuant to Order 9, Rule (4)(2) of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules), 2006, under the hand of the Hon. Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Richard Oloruju Olorunfemi.

This declaration entails that apart from the Vacation Judge appointed by the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, all other Judges of the High Court of Justice of the State would proceed on the annual one month vacation on Monday, 2nd August, 2021. It will last up to Sunday, 12th September, 2021 while normal court sittings resumes fully on Monday, 13th September, 2021.

Meanwhile, His Lordship, the Acting Chief Judge of Kogui State, has approved the appointment of Hon. Justice Salisu Umar of the High Court of Justice as the Vacation Judge. He will attend to urgent Criminal Matters and Civil Motions emanating from across the State while sitting at the High Court Headquarters in Lokoja. Such Matters or Motions must not only be urgent, but will, by law, be entertained by leave of the Court made pursuant to application by both parties.
