Kogi State High Court Declares Judges’ Annual Vacation


 

Judges of the High Court of Justice, Kogi State will commence their annual vacation on Monday, 1st August, 2022. This is pursuant to Order 9, Rule (4)(2) of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules), 2006, under the hand of the Hon. Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Joe Majebi.

 

This declaration entails that apart from the Vacation Judge appointed by the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, all other Judges of the High Court of Justice of the State would proceed on the annual one month vacation on Monday, 1st August, 2022. The vacation will last up to Monday, 26th September, 2022 while normal court sittings at all the Divisions of the High Court of Justice across the state will commence the next day, Tuesday, 27th September, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Jubril Ibrahim Oladimeji Esq., has disclosed that His Lordship, the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, has appointed Hon. Justice Rukayyat Ayoola of the High Court of Justice as the Vacation Judge for the period of the vacation.

Hon. Justice Ayoola will attend to urgent Criminal Matters and Civil Motions emanating from across the State while sitting at the High Court of Justice Headquarters in Lokoja. Such Matters or Motions must not only be urgent, but will, by law, be entertained by leave of the Court made pursuant to application by both parties.
