In line with Governor Yahaya Bello’s New Direction Administration’s Health care programme for all the citizens of Kogi State, Kogi State Health Insurance Agency Lokoja has sensitized traditional rulers on the take off of Bello Care health programme in the state.
Dr. Aledare who made this known in a press statement in Lokoja declared that already traditional rulers in the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state have been sensitized and provided with enrollee BioData forms for immediate biometric capturing of vulnerable persons in the state.
Dr Adekunle further stated that the governor in his usual magnanimity has provided funds for the immediate take off of the Bello Care health programme for the vulnerable persons in each of the twenty one Local Government Areas of the State to access free quality health Care.
The Executive Secretary noted that the five categories of the vulnerable persons who will benefit from the Bello Care programme include the poorest of the poor, pregnant women, persons with special needs, children under the ages of five and persons above sixty years of age across the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.
Dr Aledare applauded Governor Yahaya Bello for his timely intervention in the health care sector through the establishment of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, which will reduce out of pocket spending on health in the newly built and well equipped modern Reference hospital Okene, renovation and redesigning of Kogi State Specialist hospital Lokoja, General hospitals Ajaokuta, Isanlu, Geku Beki, Idah, Prince Abubakar Audu teaching hospital Anyigba and a host of other hospitals in the state.
The Executive Secretary assured the State Governor of the Agency’s preparedness to carry out the onerous task of the Bello Care programme in ensuring that the vulnerable persons in the state aceess free quality health care in all the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.
