Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Marks Two Years in Office: Progress Made, But More Work Needed – Comr. Idris Miliki

Lokoja, Kogi State – Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has completed two years in office, with stakeholders acknowledging progress made in various sectors, but emphasizing the need for more efforts to achieve sustainable development.

In a statement released by Idris Miliki Abdul, Executive Director of Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution (CHRCR), the governor’s administration has made notable strides in payment of salaries, reduction of thuggery, and promotion of peace and rule of law.

“There is no tension in the state due to non-payment of salaries as at when due, compared to previous administrations,” the statement read.

The administration has also received commendation for its efforts in enhancing security, with recent successes recorded by security agencies.

However, the statement urged the governor to do more in addressing security challenges, improving transportation, housing, water, tourism, human development, and other critical sectors.

The organization called on Governor Ododo to initiate town hall meetings, reduce his cabinet, and inject new professionals to generate fresh ideas in the final two years of his mandate.

“We congratulate him on his second-year anniversary, but there is need to do more in all ramifications,” the statement concluded.
