Kogi State Government reiterate determination to improve modern method of production diversification of fruits vegetable in homes and school.


 

The Acting Commissioner of Agriculture Hajia Lami lawal Stated this during a work shop organised by the ministry in collaboration with ministry of health in Lokoja.

 

Hajia Lami lawal said vegetables garden is important of providing food consumption and enhances nutrition value of food intake.

According to her Orchard, vegetable garden around homes, Schools is a source of job creation, esterblishment of small scale industries and reduce cost of living.

The Acting Commissioner who also is the permanent secretary of the ministry Commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his efforts at supporting agricultural revolution in the state and called on the participants to use the knowledge aquired to impact knowledge to students and support their families.

She reiterate determination of the ministry for providing enabling environment for famers in the state to thrive noting that Kogi State remains the food basket of the country.

Also in her speech The organiser who also is the Director home economics Ministry of Agriculture Mrs Eseyin Mary Fehentola said the aimed of the programme is focusing on the modern production on nutritional value and economic stimulus of fruits and vegetables.

Mrs Eseyin Mary maintained that vegetables is not mere ingredients but a source of sustenance, health in producing essential vitamins, mineral and fibers.

She Commended the acting Commissioner Hajia Lami lawal for her capacity in coordinating affairs of the ministry and described her as a great administrator.

In his paper presentation Obamiyi Samuel explained that the training is commendable and encourage women to show more commitment in morden method of production and diversification of fruits around homes and Schools.

Responding fomwan representative saadetu Ademu described the training as timely and pledge to use it for the purpose intended.
